Diablo 3 Class Guide

This hub is for all Diablo players that are looking forward to getting their hands on Diablo 3. I am one of them. And I just wanted to talk about the 5 Classes that have been confirmed to feature in Diablo 3. These classes include The Barbarian, The Witch Doctor, The Demon Hunter, The Wizard and The Monk. As you can see apart from the Barbarian these are all different classes to Diablo 2 and from what I have seen of them they are looking amazing in the new 3d graphics engine that Diablo 3 has.

So sit back and read on and see which class you fancy playing. I can imagine that like me you will end up playing every class that Diablo 3 has to offer but many of you will be making your decision on class depending on your play style. Some players like to play solo and some classes suit this style better, But in Diablo 3 with the new features included from battlenet grouping will be a more common part of the game and with that in mind other classes will become very useful.

The Diablo 3 Barbarian is the strongest defense class in the game with plenty of hitpoints and high defense the Barbarian is a excellent class for solo players, But with all that defense the Barbarian is also a great damage class, Being able to duel wield swords and axes or swing massive two handed weapons means the Barbarian has great damage potential. Another excellent part of the Barbarian is its area of effect attacks which are capable of dispatching many mobs in one blow.

The Diablo 3 Barbarian also is a good group player since the class has mighty shouts which can encourage allies and dishearten enemies. This along with the defense to tank just about anything is real useful for any group. Overall the Barbarian is for those players that like a strong melee class, And a this class is a great class for players new to the Diablo series.

There are already some very good game play videos of the Monk, From what I have seen the Monk is a melee combatant that has heals and mantras to protect himself and his allies from the undead. The Diablo 3 Monk is a bit like a glass cannon, He has plenty of damage to push out but takes large damage from mobs himself. Lucky for him he has healing skills but if you do wish to play a Monk keep this in mind since you need to adopt a hit and run technique, even more so in end game at the higher levels. Monks prefer to hit in combos and the it seems the third hit of most combos has splash or AoE damage, So you are rewarded for finishing combos which seems to be one of the main ideas behind the Monk. A very fast melee attacker.

So with heals and mantras the Monk makes a excellent class for co-op and will be needed without a doubt. As for solo players I think that you can still solo very well on a Monk but it will require some skill, So maybe not for newer players to the series to try first time out. From my experience the Monk is excellent at lower levels when playing Solo but at higher levels things become a bit tighter to keep the Monk Alive.

This is another one of my favourite looking D3 classes, The Wizard is capable of handing out some serious damage to wide areas, Which I may add is very useful in Diablo. Of cause the only real problem with this is the hit points and very low defense of the Wizard. Having the energy to cast spells is not a issue it seems but keeping the Wizard alive when surrounded can be a real challenge.

Wizards are somewhat lucky that they get protective spells which can protective themselves and allies, Because they really need any help they can get in that area. When it comes to killing they are first class. Once again the Wizard is a excellent class for grouping with friends since the power to waste large groups of enemies while someone else is taking most of the flak allows the Wizard to spend his time killing rather than worrying about dying. And killing is where the Wizard seems to really excel.

I'm sorry to say it again but this is another class that really interests me. The Witch Doctor has some great skills. Witch Doctors attacks mainly consist of AoE curses and spells, they can also summon pets to help them in combat. Some of the Witch Doctors curses cause different effects also such as stealing hit points from mobs and slowing down enemies. The Witch Doctor is somewhat weak when it comes to taking attacks tho so keep that in mind if you are planing on playing one.

Without a doubt the Witch Doctor will be a useful class for grouping like most of the D3 classes specially since it is great a CC, but I think that it will also be able to hold its own very well in Solo due to the fact that it has some excellent debuffs and can summon pets to aid it in combat. Definitely a interesting class and one I will be checking out.

This is the last class in D3 and is a fairly new to me. But what I can see is it is very much like a Rogue class that you would play in any other mmorpg. The Demon Hunter is a ranged attacker that is able to duel wield crossbows, But with this it also has traps and some skills that allow the Demon Hunter to remain undetected. Traps will be used for damage and CC I guess and with the ability to go invisible makes the Demon Hunter a useful class and certainly one worth checking out. From what I have seen the Demon Hunter is not quite as weak as the Wizard but does not have the AoE skills of a Wizard.

Demon Hunters will make decent classes for both solo and group play, Skills that allow the Demon Hunter to survive longer are certainly what it is all about, Traps I can see being very useful in both Solo and group play and with the Demon Hunters damage output from range and the skill to vanish makes them a deadly class which should have no issue staying alive.
